The story "A Sound of Thunder", it was just wow. I can't imagine that just one small thing that changes, can make a really big difference.

A Run to Remember pt. 2

I just finished running/walking around the track and I was able to run/walk 11 miles in 4 hours. That is like 44 laps. I feel proud of myself that I was able to accomplish a goal.

A Run to Remember

Today is Veteran's Day. Today at SMHS, there is an event that is called "A Run to Remember". In this event, you either run, walk or both and after you run a mile, get a Bio and a picture of a veteran who died in war. For each mile you do, you get another bio.

Today is not a day to be happy because of the fact that we don't have school today. Today is the day to remember those who have sacrificed themselves for their country. To pray for their family members who are suffering for the loss of a loved one. I am here participating for I feel it is the right thing to do even if I don't know or never heard of the veterans.

EMERSON PRESENTATION DAY 4

1) *know where you belong 

* if you know where you are, you are in a place where you belong and feel comfortable in.

* Being alone you know your place

1) Ralph Waldo Emerson: Why are we not allowed to vote at this age (16)?
* Not mature enough, must be legal adults (age 18)

2) If you don't trust yourself, you don't have self reliance; you don't believe in yourself.

3) Helping a person but there is no proof. Show that you have helped.
*Dont worry about what others think or say about you.

EMERSON PRESENTATIONS DAY 2

1) Don't let people bring you down and always trust yourself.

2) *Theme: Self-reliance (have self trust towards yourself)
* "The soul is no traveler, the wise man stays at home." (At home with your belongings is safer than going out all the time.)
* "What I must do is all that concerns me, not what the people think." (Basically that what you do or decide to do should only concern you not anybody else)
*Tone: nature (hopeful, sincere, inspirational, optimistic)

3) *"Nothing can be bring peace but yourself." (only you can get rid of obstacle in your way in life)
*"To be great is to be misunderstood." (that a person can be misunderstood by their actions and by what they look like outside.)

4) *Emerson talks about respect to every single person's opinion.

Election Day

Today is the elections. Should I really be happy that there are two candidates that may ruin the U.S. even though one of them knows more about politics than the other? I won't know what may happen after today, but who ever is chosen, hopefully they don't start WW3. That would be a disaster in my opinion.
